Today Im going to talk about explosives under this topic. Explosives, what are explosives?. Explosives is a compound use in bombs, missiles and other weapons to make blast and launch.
As early as the 9th century AD the Chinese made fireworks using gunpowder, the first explosive to be discovered. It was first used for firing guns in 14th century Europe. Dynamite was invented in 1866 by the Swedish chemist Alfred Noble, who later developed other high explosives, including gelignite.
The high-pressure gas given off by an explosive expands violently to produce a noisy explosion. All explosives have fuel, which burns rapidly, and a chemical that provides oxygen for burning.
Explosives have three major types. They are
- Low explosives
- High explosives
- Plastic explosives
Low explosives use in cartridges and rockets. They can be set off by heat or even an electric spark. They are tightly packed inside a container so that the gas pressure can build up rapidly.
High explosives -:
This explosive type explode very fast and shatter everything around them. They are use in bombs and for rocket-blasting. They are set off by a small explosion from a detonator.
How explode a hand grenade.Plastic explosives -:
This explosive type that can be moulded in to shape, is used by terrorists because it is easy to hide and difficult to detect.
